Highlights 2002

Made a decision to take sheep to the 3 major shows in NSW and see how our sheep compared to studs outside the local show scene.

CANBERRA ROYAL

Our first big show and good success with 1st and/or 2nd in each class entered and our sheep competed well. Rewarded with Reserve Champion Ewe.

SYDNEY ROYAL
Our first trip to the 'big city show' and we were not sure what to expect. We exceeded all expectations with 6 first placings and 2 second place ribbons finishing with both Grand Champion Ram and Grand Champion Ewe and being awarded Most Successful Exhibitor in White Suffolk section.

DUBBO 2003

Following Sydney, to do well in Dubbo would finish an unbelievable showing for 2002. We finished with both Reserve Champion Ram and Reserve Champion Ewe, collecting 13 individual place ribbons in what is one of the largest White Suffolk shows nationally.

RAM PURCHASES

The purchase of two very good sires at Adelaide Royal 2002.

LOCHDALE 23/01
An outstanding ram that first caught our eye on a visit to Tasmania in March 2002. He has outstanding muscling through the hindquarter with tremendous type and correctness. Purchased for the top price of $9,500 in partnership with Wanden White Suffolk Stud, he has since attracted a lot of positive comment and interest.

LEAHCIM LAM 006/01
A ram that created a lot of comment at Adelaide due to the tremendous length in the loin/ hindquarter area of his carcase. With 25% White Dorper genetics, this White Suffolk ram has been fleece tested and does not pose any additional contamination risk. An outstanding carcase ram with great neck extension and type and very high balanced Lambplan figures.

DROUGHT (Hardly a Highlight)

2002 has seen the worst drought in over 100 years hit most of NSW. We were right in the middle and hand feeding, carting water and dust were the agenda for most of the year.
