DNA Results

Research Breeding Values for sires tested at Pendarra.

The values for Tenderness and Intra Muscular Fat determine meat eating quality; The Terminal averages for RBV's are significantly different to the ASBV averages due to the selective process of the sires that have been tested for DNA.

We have tested over 60 sires for DNA and are currently testing all possible 2011 and 2012 drop stud sires; we have only listed the older sires that have had a major influence in the White Suffolk breed and the 2011 drop sires that are picked for stud ram use. Keep watch for more results as they are processed.

Note that these values are Research Breeding Values and are in the process of being developed further.

Pendarra 075630 and 096981 are currently being extensively used in meat eating quality trials as they are both amongst the leading terminal sires for meat eating qulaity.
